The three-bottle case 'Non solo bianchi!' (Not just whites!) from the Murva winery is a journey into the heart of the Isonzo area through three signature labels: Murellis, Murva Bianco and Pinot Nero.
The red Murellis, vinified with pure Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, is a charming wine with soft and fruity tones, harmonious and accessible, but always elegant. It is produced in Corona, in the municipality of Mariano del Friuli, on red soils rich in minerals and dolomitic limestone, capable of retaining moisture and restoring balance to the vines. After 18 days of fermentation maceration and 12 months of ageing in oak, it presents itself in the glass with purple reflections, aromas of ripe red fruit and spices, and a fresh, savoury taste with great personality.
Murva Bianco is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, a combination designed to create balance and smoothness. Fermented at a controlled temperature and aged on its fine lees for a year, it captivates with aromas of sweet yellow fruit, freshness and a clean palate that invites you to take another sip.
The selection is completed by Pinot Nero, elegant and deep, the result of the harmony of three parcels vinified individually and aged for 12 months 'sur lies'. In the glass, it offers aromas of strawberry and small wild berries, with a round and velvety palate, a symbol of Murva's excellence.

More details
The red 'Murellis' from the Murva winery is made from 100% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grapes, which are native to the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. This charming wine has soft, fruity tones and is ideal for those looking for an accessible, harmonious sip with an immediate expression that does not sacrifice elegance.
Like the other labels, this Refosco bears the name of the cru to which it belongs. Murellis is located in Corona, in the municipality of Mariano del Friuli, on medium-textured soil originating from the oldest geological formations of the Isonzo plain. The soil here is distinguished by its intense red colour, derived from the slow disintegration of dolomite rocks that have been transported downstream and transformed into a fertile, mineral-rich matrix over hundreds of thousands of years. This type of soil is well endowed with water and has an excellent ability to retain moisture, even during periods of drought. The climate here is particularly favourable for cultivating Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, which has a fine, deep tannic texture without any harshness.
After harvesting, small batches of wine are made separately in the cellar and the musts are left to ferment with the skins for around 18 days without temperature control as the small batches never exceed 24–26 °C. During fermentation, the skins are punched down manually several times a day. This practice involves pressing down on the pomace mass on the surface of the must to mix it using a special tool. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels before bottling. Refosco has an intense ruby red colour with purple reflections in the glass. The aroma is intensely complex with notes of ripe red fruit and herbaceous hints, enriched by enveloping nuances of black pepper and cloves. On the palate, the tannic texture provides an enveloping and smooth entry, continuing with a fresh and savoury finish. This wine stands out for its drinkability, character and personality.

More details
The white wine 'Murva', produced by the eponymous winery, breaks with convention by omitting the cru of origin from the label. The origin here is broader: a deliberate blend of different vineyards and varieties. The majority is Sauvignon Blanc, with a small amount of Chardonnay added to soften the dominant variety's more recognisable imprint and create a smoother, more balanced and transversal profile. This white wine focuses on harmony without excess and is designed to please and surprise, even surpassing varietal expectations.
Renata and Alberto's wines are the result of a respectful and non-invasive approach in both the vineyard and the cellar. They pay close attention to environmental and biodiversity issues. They accompany the grapes on their expressive journey without forcing them, allowing the varieties and individual plots, with their soil and climate characteristics, to guide the final profile of the wine.
The soils in which the Murva Bianco vineyards are planted derive from the ancient erosion of marl and dolomitic limestone, a composition that gives the wines a distinctive character closely linked to the region.
Each vineyard is tended with artisanal care; the constant human presence, direct observation and manual labour ensure the plant's balance, from pruning to harvest.
The grapes undergo cold skin maceration overnight before fermentation begins at a controlled temperature of around 15°C. The wine is then left to age on its fine lees for around a year before bottling. It then remains in the bottle for a further 12 months before sale.
This bright straw-yellow wine captivates with its complexity and extraordinary composure. On the palate, it opens with a sensation of sweet yellow fruits, despite the total absence of residual sugars. It then evolves to reveal freshness and harmony, with a long finish that never gives way to bitterness. Its inviting finish and clean taste make it extremely pleasant and entice you to take another sip.

More details
As with the Murva Bianco, the red Murva Pinot Noir vinified by Renata and Alberto represents a conscious departure from the company's usual practice of naming the cru on the label. This red wine does not represent a single vineyard, but rather the harmonious combination of three Pinot Noir plots that interact with each other, and this is a deliberate choice, not an oversight.
Since 2009, the Murva project has been guided by a clear vision: to produce wines of the highest quality, carefully crafted in response to grape variety and climate variables. From the outset, this vision has informed the selection of cultivars to be planted in each vineyard — a considered choice reflecting the extensive technical knowledge gained through thirty years of experience.
In this context, the roots of Austro-Hungarian, French and Friulian traditions have been skilfully integrated, finding fertile ground in the Isonzo area. This blend of influences has helped shape distinctive wines with character that express the full potential of each variety grown on their sites.
The grapes grown in the three plots are vinified individually in the cellar through fermentation maceration for about two weeks, during which time the must remains in contact with the skins. During this process, the “cap” is manually punched down to keep it wet. The 'sur lies' ageing lasts around 12 months, followed by at least another year of rest in the bottle.
In the glass, it displays the typical ruby red appearance of Pinot Noir, but with unexpected depth; it is never thin or flat. The aromatic expression varies with the vintage, offering nuances ranging from ripe strawberry to fully ripe wild berries, with a well-defined sweetness of fruit. On the palate, it is delicate and soft with a pleasant sensation of fullness and harmony, and no tannic harshness.
