The 'Bianchi del Friuli' three-bottle case from the Murva winery contains three great expressions of Friulian white wine: Teolis, Monuments and Viarsa.
The Teolis white wine, made from 100% Sauvignon grapes, is an expression of the terroir, precise, vertical and inviting to drink, with a savoury and enveloping finish. Aromatically, it opens with fruity and herbal notes. Produced in the municipality of Moraro on calcareous and clayey soils, it is the result of the meticulous work of Alberto and Renata, who take care of every stage manually, from harvesting to low-temperature fermentation, to maturation on fine lees in stainless steel.
Monuments is a clear expression of pure Chardonnay, combining technical rigour and emotional depth. Born in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia, on soils rich in iron and red clay, it stands out for its elegance and tension. After careful fermentation and a long rest on the lees, it offers a complex bouquet of yellow fruits, citrus, honey and mineral hints.
Viarsa is the creation of Alberto and Renata, made from native Tocai Friulano grapes. An intense and complex white wine, with aromas of pear and apricot, a hint of almond and a perfect balance between freshness and savouriness, capable of expressing the authentic soul of Friuli.

The white 'Monuments' from the Murva winery is a clear expression of pure Italian Chardonnay, combining technical rigour and emotional depth. Alberto and Renata do not leave anything to chance: for them, craftsmanship is not synonymous with imperfection, but rather an opportunity to pay careful attention to every detail, enabling them to express the identity of the place with precision. Monuments is broad and refined, with a pronounced verticality on the palate — a trait much appreciated in wines from this region — and it fully expresses the fruity character of this renowned international grape variety.
The vineyards are tended in the municipality of Moraro, in the heart of Friuli Venezia Giulia. This area is characterised by iron-rich soils with a classic red colour, composed of clays derived from dolomitic decalcification. This warm, well-aerated soil anticipates the spring awakening of the vine and promotes complete ripening, producing concentrated, expressive grapes. Work in the vineyard is meticulous, low-intervention and entirely manual, including harvesting. In the cellar, the grapes undergo cold skin extraction before fermentation, which takes place slowly at around 15°C. The wine then rests on its lees for 11 months, followed by a further year of ageing in the bottle.
This Chardonnay is a deep straw yellow in colour, with a bouquet that opens up to reveal ripe yellow fruits and tropical accents intertwined with contrasting notes of citrus zest, acacia honey, resin, melted butter and white chocolate. On the palate, it has an elegant and taut entry, with vibrant acidity accompanying a dynamic and persistent flavour. This is a white wine with backbone, designed not to impress immediately, but to reveal its depth and surprising finesse with every sip. ‘Monuments’ is the product of a clear and consistent vision: an authentic Italian Chardonnay that truly reflects its origins and the concept behind its creation.

More details
‘Viarsa’ is a white wine created by Alberto and Renata. It is made using grapes from the native Tocai Friulano variety, which are vinified by hand. However, in spring 2017, severe frost hit the vineyards hard, destroying all four Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso crus and the entire Chardonnay Monuments cru. After weeks of despair, Alberto and Renata selected a vineyard in an unaffected area, identifying a Tocai Friulano vineyard on the hills of Oleis in eastern Friuli. This vineyard is planted on soils composed of silty clay on the surface and dolomitic limestone deeper down.
This is how Viarsa was born: a wine produced using the same vinification processes as always, including cold skin extraction followed by fermentation in steel tanks at controlled temperatures of around 15 °C. The ageing process lasts almost a year, with the wine remaining on its fine lees until it is bottled. Unlike the other labels, which document all phases of the vineyard and cellar processes, Renata and Alberto chose to create a fresh wine by forgoing the ageing period in the bottle.
Straw yellow in colour with greenish reflections, it is an intense, complex white wine in keeping with the high quality of the Murva winery. It releases fruity hints of pear and apricot on the nose, accompanied by the slight almond note typical of Friuli. On the palate, it is dynamic and smooth on entry with a pleasant sapidity that lingers on the finish. Its excellent balance of freshness and salinity, together with the perfect harmony between aroma and flavour, characterise this fascinating wine.
